The New Zealand boxer David Tua has revealed that he went into his bout with Monte Barrett in Atlantic City earlier this month with an injured shoulder.
Tua, the WBO number two ranked heavyweight, complained about a sore left shoulder during several training sessions leading up to the draw with Barrett almost a fortnight ago.
Tua's promoter Cedric Kushner says the boxer didn't reveal the injury because he didn't want to take anything away from Barrett, however Kushner now felt he needed to set the record straight as to his injury.
Tua has been told to take some time off before returning to the ring.
