Pakistan suffered their worst batting collapse against England to be all out for 80 to hand the home side victory by 354 runs in the first test at Trent Bridge in Nottingham.

The England swing bowler James Anderson produced another almost unplayable spell of swing bowling in ideal, cloudy conditions to finish with a match haul of 11 wickets for 71, his first 10-wicket bag in test matches.

Pakistan had trouble holding their catches, something England excelled at, which delighted captain Andrew Strauss.

The second test in the four-match series is in Birmingham.
