Counties glad to have Umaga on board

6:46 pm on 2 August 2010

Counties Manukau's coach Milton Haig says the former All Black captain Tana Umaga has helped show what his side's capable of.

With Umaga at second-five for most of the match the Steelers outscored Otago four tries to one at Pukekohe, despite having only just over a third of possession and having to make 229 tackles to Otago's 78.

Haig says that's why it was so important to sign up a player of Umaga's experience.

Counties Manukau are in Wellington on Sunday afternoon.
