South Africa's Rugby president Oregan Hoskins has lashed out at Australia and New Zealand, labelling the disciplinary hearing for the Springboks coach Peter de Villiers - "a declaration of war by Australia and New Zealand against South Africa".

The SA rugby boss has vowed to stand behind de Villiers who's being called to account for suggesting that the Irish referees Alan Lewis and Alain Rolland favoured the All Blacks during their two wins over the Springboks last month.

The South African Rugby Union has has issued a statement in an attempt to convince SANZAR that De Villiers had been misunderstood.
