The New Zealand men's hockey team has scored its first win at a Champions Trophy tournament in 32 years, beating world number three the Netherlands 3-1 in Germany.
It's an encouraging result for the Black Sticks after conceding nine goals to Australia and five to Germany in their first two matches.
Simon Child opened the scoring with a field goal in the 13th minute and Andy Hayward doubled the New Zealanders lead just before half time through a penalty corner.
The Dutch got one back just after half time, but Blair Hilton sealed the match after 52 minutes.
The Black Sticks defended superbly with the Netherlands launching countless attacks in the second half - the Dutch had 22 shots compared to the New Zealanders 10.
New Zealand play Spain Friday morning and a win could have them play off for third.
New Zealand first played in the top six Champions Trophy tournament 32 years ago and this is their fifth tournament.
