Basketball New Zealand and the New Zealand Olympic Committee have named a team of four to contest the men's basketball competition at this month's Youth Olympic Games in Singapore.
West Auckland's James Ashby, North Harbour's Ben Fraser, Nelson's Michael Karena and Counties-Manukau's Reuben Te Rangi make up the side that comprises players who were all born between January 1993, and December 1994.
The tournament, played under FIBA33 rules, will begin on August the 15th with New Zealand facing Greece in the opening men's game.
Coach Anthony Corban says he and his players benefited from finishing third at an international three-on-three tournament in Germany last month, even though only Karena was on that roster.
