The New Zealand cricket team has made an ideal start to their Tri-series campaign in Sri Lanka, thumping India by 200 runs on the back of a record fourth wicket partnership between Ross Taylor and Scott Styris.

The Blackcaps won the toss before choosing to bat first and were struggling at 28 for 3 before Taylor and Styris combined for a run-a-ball record fourth wicket partnership of 190 on the way to New Zealand's total of 288.

Returning from injury fast bowler Daryl Tuffey ran out dangerman M.S. Dhoni and took three wickets as the Blackcaps bundled India out for just 88 runs but he says it was Taylor and Styris who set up the victory.
