Tuffey puts in strong performance in Blackcaps win over India

The veteran paceman Daryl Tuffey has returned from injury taking three wickets and affecting a run-out as the New Zealand cricketers thumped India by 200 runs in the first game of the one day Tri-series in Sri Lanka.

Batting first the Blackcaps lost three early wickets on the Dambulla pitch before captain Ross Taylor and Scott Styris scored a run-a-ball fourth wicket record partnership of 190 to help set a total of 288 for India to chase.

The Blackcaps bowlers struck early and never allowed the Indian batsmen to find any rhythm, bowling them out for just 88 runs.

Tuffey says Taylor and Styris deserve the credit for the win but was happy with his performance after an extended injury break.
