The World and Olympic 100 and 200 metres champion Usain Bolt has been ruled out of the rest of the athletics season with a back injury.

The Jamaican was beaten into second place by American Tyson Gay at the Diamond League meeting in Stockholm on Saturday and was due to race against Gay and compatriot Asafa Powell in Brussels at the end of the month.

All three men have had injury problems this year and Bolt's early exit from the season means the three won't race together for some time yet.
