An additional cyclist and athletics team member have been confirmed for New Zealand's Commonwealth Games team.

The young road rider Clinton Avery joins a now 27-strong cycling team in Delhi and 19-year-old Matthew Lack will complete in the 1500 metres wheelchair event.

Avery's a late addition after Julian Dean withdrew and the 22-year-old is trialling for Lance Armstrong's Radioshack team.

Bike NZ team manager, Andy Reid, says Avery's had a stand-out season and can ride in breaks and also be part of a lead out team for the key sprinter Greg Henderson.

Paralympics New Zealand Chief Executive, Fiona Pickering. says Luck set two under 20 world records in winning the 1500 and 5000 metres at the Junior World Championships in Switzerland.
