Olympian Marina Erakovic have been selected as a member of the first team to represent New Zealand in tennis at the Commonwealth Games.

Erakovic has been ranked as high as 49 in singles but is now 362 although she's 114 in doubles.

Her partner in Delhi will be Ellen Barry and the men's combination of Rubin Statham and Marcus Daniell was also named.

The four will also compete in singles in Delhi in October when tennis will be played for the first time at a Commonwealth Games.

Dan King-Turner and Sacha Jones were unavailable.

The Davis Cup coach Marcel Vos will be the official team coach.

Erakovic is continuing her injury comeback at Montreal's Rogers Cup, where she plays Spain's Aranxa Parra Santonja in qualifying.
