The New Zealand team's Commonwealth Games uniform for Delhi has been unveiled.

The team's Chef de Mission Dave Currie says the range of casual and training wear has been designed to honour Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay.

It features a silhouette of Mt Everest and the numbers 29028, the height in feet of Everest when the pair reached the summit in 1953.

The uniform is black and also has a silver fern.

The opening ceremony uniform will be unveiled in Delhi.
