New Zealand A have has beaten South Africa by 15 runs to finish third at a Twenty20 Emerging Players Cricket tournament in Brisbane.
Batting first New Zealand made 148 for six, with captain Jamie How and Dean Brownlie putting on 101 for the second wicket.
New Zealand then restricted South Africa to 133 for five.
The final between an Australian Institute of Sport Eleven and India was rained out.
The 50-over round starts on Saturday.
