Proteas can win series in Birmingham after first win

South Africa are looking to build on the momentum established as they ruthlessly wrapped up the second cricket Test in Leeds, handing England a 10-wicket trouncing inside four days.

The Proteas can now win the four-match series with another victory in Birmingham at the end of the month.

England were all out in their second innings for 327 just before stumps on the fourth day at Headingley in Leeds, and the South Africans had time to score the nine runs they needed for victory.

South African batsman Ashwell Prince was named man of the match for his innings of 149.

The tourists' winning captain Graeme Smith says his players took heart from the opening Test when they salvaged a draw despite a bad start.

Smith says it's nice to be the team who's one-up in the series.
