The Queenstown golfer Jim Lapsley is doing best of the three New Zealanders at the British Seniors Open championship in Scotland.
Lapsley had a 5-over par 76 on the first day at Royal Troon, while Simon Owen had a 78 and 72 year old Sir Bob Charles an 81.
The leaders on 68 are Argentina's Eduardo Romero and the American Bruce Vaughan.
The 5-times Open champion Tom Watson had a 70 and
Greg Norman, who tied for 7th at last week's Open championship in England, had a 75.
