Some players will be doubtful starters for Champions Trophy

Some cricketers are likely to decide against playing the Champions Trophy in September now that the ICC has confirmed that it will be played in Pakistan.

The ICC discussed the possibility of moving the tournament because of security fears raised by Australia, England and New Zealand, but decided to stick with Pakistan after appointing a special task force to ensure safety.

The task force is to review and report on security by August the 10th, with some countries likely to reserve their decision about participation in the tournament until then.

New Zealand cut short a tour of Pakistan in 2002 after a bomb blast outside their hotel in Karachi killed 19 people.

A New Zealand Cricket spokesman says they're likely to make a statement later today.
