Players Association boss says no to trip to Pakistan

9:47 am on 25 July 2008

The New Zealand Cricket Players Association says they'll be recommending that the Black Caps do not go to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy tournament in September.

The ICC discussed the possibility of moving the tournament because of security fears raised by Australia, England and New Zealand, but decided to stick with Pakistan after appointing a special task force to ensure safety.

The task force is to review and report on security by August the 10th, with some countries likely to reserve their decision about participation in the tournament until then.

Players Association boss Heath Mills says the ICC's decision is very disappointing and as far as they're concerned further security reports are unneccesary ....

A New Zealand Cricket spokesman says they're likely to make a statement later today.
