Silver Ferns coach Ruth Aitken has backed the move by the Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic to move star shooter Irene Van Dyk further further out of the attacking circle but she seems unlikely to use van Dyk in the same role in international play.
Over the final rounds of the trans Tasman competition Magic coach Noelene Taurua has switched van Dyk to goal attack with Maria Tutaia going to goal shoot.
The Magic are likely to stick with the same approach for the final against the New South Wales Swifts in Sydney on Monday night and while Aitken believes it's worked for the Magic it won't be a permanent feature in the Silver Ferns.
