Blackburn Rovers captain Ryan Nelsen has linked up with his New Zealand football team mates at the Olympic Village in Beijing.
Nelsen, who will play the first two matches of the Olympic campaign before rejoining his club side for the start of the new English Premiership season, left Blackburn's pre season tour of Portugal early.
Nelsen travelled back to Manchester before the long haul to Beijing where he was welcomed into the village by the New Zealand team.
There was no rest for the New Zealand international however, who was put through his paces at a local training venue in 30-degree heat shortly after arrival.
The New Zealand men's football team open their Olympic campaign against China next Thursday.
