The England midfielder Gareth Barry will stay at the Premier League football club Aston Villa while the England midfielder David Bentley is leaving Blackburn Rovers for Tottenham Hotspur.
Villa says the deadline for Barry to conclude a possible move to Liverpool has now passed.
Liverpool wouldn't come up with the asking price of $48.5 million and the Villa coach Martin O'Neill is happy he'll be able to keep the Birmingham club's 27-year-old captain.
And Tottenham have agreed terms with Blackburn of around $46 million for Bentley.
The signing comes just days after Spurs sold Robbie Keane to Liverpool.
In other transfer news, Manchester City have signed Israel defender Tal Ben Haim from Chelsea for an undisclosed fee from Premier League rivals Chelsea.
The Premier League begins on August 17th.
