New Zealand teenage golfer Danny Lee says he's exhausted but happy after completing his double win at the Western Amateur Championship in Michigan.

Lee added the match play title to his strokeplay win today, beating off the challenge of the American Eric Flores with a 4 and 2 in the final at Benton Harbor.

The 18-year-old from Rotorua, who was born in Korea and moved to New Zealand when he was nine, becomes the first winner in seven years to claim both honours, joining an elite group that includes the world number two, Phil Mickelson.

Lee says he's really happy to be in such company and he's really impressed with himself.

Though it wasn't that hard to win the final, as everything went well on the day, it was really good timing to win the tournament.

It's the second Western Amateur title for Lee, who became the world's top-ranked amateur golfer after the win in the 72-hole stroke play event on Saturday.

He says it's been a good week.
