Court hearing set to decide if Sonny Bill can switch codes

3:25 pm on 6 August 2008

The Bulldogs will find out just hours before Sonny Bill Williams' proposed rugby debut if they have been successful in gaining the injunction needed to block his defection from the National Rugby League.

Williams' signing with French club Toulon has been made official, with the former Kiwi Test star agreeing to a one-year deal with an option for a second season, despite having four years left on his contract with the Bulldogs.

A New South Wales Supreme Court Judge granted leave for lawyers to serve documents to associates of Williams as substitutes, after failed attempts last week to serve him directly and the injunction is due to heard on Friday

But Toulon's president Mourad Boudjellal isn't apologising for luring Williams from the NRL and says he will be at the club's ground in some capacity on Saturday.
