Julian Dean says Olympics mean a lot

5:40 am on 8 August 2008

The New Zealand road cyclist Julian Dean says he'd never miss the opportunity to ride for New Zealand at the Olympic Games.

This is the fourth Olympics for Dean who has just finished his fourth Tour de France.

Dean will ride the Beijing road race on Saturday with Tim Gudsell and Glen Chadwick.

A lot of the European-based stars have decided not to compete at the Games, but Dean says that's not his style.

He says he wants to represent his country.
