Federer looks to Olympics to put 2008 right

World number one Roger Federer says an Olympic gold medal would make up for the disappointments he has had in tennis tournaments in the past two months.

Federer fronted up to a media contingent of around 400 journalists at the Olympic press centre on Thursday afternoon.

He says while his year has been solid, he has lost some games that he should not have.

Federer is technically still the world number one tennis player, but the rankings will change on August 18 to put Rafael Nadal into the top spot.
