Germany keeper quits international stage

The Germany football goal keeper, Jens Lehmann, has brought the curtain down on his international career.

The 38-year-old keeper, who won 61 caps, says he could no longer give a guarantee he'd still be playing football after his one-year contract with VfB Stuttgart.

Lehmann, who left Arsenal for Stuttgart at the end of last season, made his debut for Germany against Oman in February 1998.

His last appearance came when Germany lost 1-0 to Spain in the final of Euro 2008 in Vienna in June.
