The United States basketball Redeem Team has beaten China-101-70 in one of the most eagerly awaited events at the Olympic Games in Beijing.
With their host of NBA stars, the US were always expected to win but that did not stop the game being the hottest ticket in town.
The Chinese took a surprise lead thanks to 7ft 6in Yao Ming, who plays for Houston Rockets., and it was 29-all after the first quarter.
But the Americans led 49-37 at half-time, despite missing a string of three-point attempts and pulled away with 25 points in the third quarter as the Chinese tired.
Lithuania beat the defending champions Argentina 79-75, the European champions Russia beat Iran 71-49 and Germany overwhelmed Angola 95-66.
