Curtis holds one shot lead in PGA

6:34 am on 11 August 2008

Ben Curtis shot a two-under-par 68 in the PGA Championship's storm-delayed third round to grab a one-shot lead heading into the last 18 holes at Oakland Hills, Michigan.

Curtis is two-under-par 208, one stroke better than fellow American J.B. Holmes and Sweden's Henrik Stenson.

Because of the downpours and lightning that hit the Detroit suburb on Saturday the leading players are playing 36 holes on the final day.

Double British Open champion Padraig Harrington was the big mover, surging up the leaderboard with a four-under-par 66 to be three shots off the pace at one-over 211 along with Spain's Sergio Garcia and Charlie Wi of South Korea.

New Zealand's Mark Brown at one stage was close to the top of the leader board. With five holes to play he was one under for the day and in the top twenty at five over for the tournament. But he then dropped five shots in the last five holes to finish his rain delayed third round with a 74 and tied for 45th.

Michael Campbell, who had a 75 in his third round, is one shot better and tied for 38th.

The leaders start their final round just after 6am (NZ time) on Monday.
