Warriors up to ninth on NRL

6:34 am on 11 August 2008

The Warriors are now ninth on the NRL championship after their 16-12 win over the Broncos on Saturday night, but will be shunted down to tenth tonight after the Titans play the Knights.

Both those teams are on 22 points, with the winner moving up to 24 points, equal with the Warriors but with a better points differential.

While the top of the competition seems almost decided with the Storm, Sea Eagles and Sharks all virtually assured a top-four finish and home semi-finals, the rest of the top eight is still to be decided with the fourth placed Roosters only three points ahead of fifth-placed Brisbane.

Then the teams from sixth to ninth are all tied on 24 points, the same as the Warriors.

On 24 points are the Raiders ( with a +72 points differential), St George Illawarra (+63), Wests Tigers (+38) and the Warriors (-95).

The Panthers are 10th on 23 points, one point ahead of the Knights and Titans, one of whom will move up tonight.
