Womens pair into rowing final

5:34 am on 13 August 2008

The women's pair of Julliette Haig and Nicky Coles have become the second New Zealand rowing crew to qualify for a final at the Beijing Olympics.

The pair rowed a very controlled repechage... last just before the halfway mark they powered through to win comfortably and grab one of the finals spots on Saturday.

The women's double of Caroline and Georgina Evers Swindell are the other crew to have already qualified for a final.

Tomorrow there are semi-finals for the single scullers Emma Twig and Mahe Drysdale, the men's pair, double and four.
