The New Zealand swimmer Glen Snyders has finished eighth in the first semi final of the men's 200 metres breaststroke in Beijing and will not qualify for the final.
Snyders recorded a time of two minutes 12.07 seconds to trail the field home.
Japan's Kosuke Kitajima won the semi final in an Olympic record time of 2.08.61.
