The Athens silver medallist Ben Fouhy has finished third in the heats of canoeing's K1 1000 at the Beijing Olympics.
He's through to the semi finals but on today's form will need a vast improvement if he's to be a medal contender posting only tenth fastest time overall.
He was well beaten by Canada's Adam van Koeverden who advances straight to Friday's final.
Fouhy was disappointed in the result saying he had hoped to progress straight to the final.
In the K2 1000 Steven Fergusson and Mike Walker were fourth in their heat and also have to go through the semis, having been seventh fastest overall.
