Usain Bolt is less than 20 seconds away from joining an illustrious list of sprinters who have completed the Olympic double after yet another awesome display in the 200 metres semi-finals.

The Jamaican cruised home in a race which included defending champion Shawn Crawford and top American Wallace Spearmon.

Bolt's time was 20.09 seconds. Crawford and Spearmon also qualified.

Carl Lewis was the last man to do the double in 1984, following the likes of Valeriy Borzov in 1972, Bobby Joe Morrow in 1956 and Jesse Owens in 1936, and it would take a brave man to bet against the Jamaican joining them after Wednesday's final.

Bolt took the 100 title with a world record on Saturday and says he prefers the longer race, where he won a silver in last year's world championships behind American Tyson Gay who failed to qualify for the Olympic event
