Recalled All Black Isaia Toeava has been named at first five for Auckland's Ranfurly Shield defence against Manawatu at Eden Park on Saturday.

Toeava made his long-awaited return to the All Blacks on the left wing last Sunday, coming off the bench in the side's 19-0 Tri Nations win over the Springboks in Cape Town.

But on Saturday the 15-test veteran will return to the position where he made his Auckland debut back in the 2005 season.

Toeava is one of three All Blacks named in Auckland's starting 15 to face Manawatu.

Hooker Keven Mealamu and prop John Afoa will also start, having impressed off the bench in the All Blacks' win over the Boks.

Uncapped halfback Taniela Moa is also back in the number 9 jersey having travelled with the All Blacks as injury cover.

Toeava's selection at first-five sees Auckland's previous starting number 10, Lachie Munro moving back to fullback.
