Jake White's possible return panned

The South African Rugby Union has rejected suggestions the former Springbok coach Jake White could return as a director of rugby.

White's told the Cape Town-based Afrikaans newspaper Die Burger that he wants to be director of rugby in South Africa.

But SARU president Oregan Hoskins says the job doesn't exist and there haven't been any discussions with White, whose successor Peter de Villiers, is under fire.

The Springboks have lost four of their five Tri-Nations matches, including unprecedented successive home losses to New Zealand and Australia.

De Villiers took over from White, who wasn't reappointed after he did not reapply for his position following the World Cup triumph.

White says he's had his turn as coach and now all he wants to do is help.
