Rally New Zealand has new leader

4:58 pm on 30 August 2008

Rally New Zealand has a new leader after its second day.

Ford's Jari-Matti Latvala has replaced team mate Mikko Hirvonen and is 9.3 seconds clear of the Finn.

Citroen's Sebastien Loeb is just over 13 seconds back on Latvala.

The final standings of the day reflect a day of tactics.

With two stages to go Loeb had reduced Hirvonnen's day one lead to just over five seconds and was quickest half way through the second to last stage before buttoning off.

Hennin Solberg, in another Ford, won the last two stages of the day.
