The Waikato rugby side's first win of the national provincial competition has been a significant one with a fifth round 34-13 defeat of defending champ Auckland.
Waikato score four tries to two and led 17-8 at half time in Hamilton.
Meanwhile North Harbour has subdued Manawatu 20-17 to gain its second win of the season.
