The New Zealand tennis player Marina Erakovic and her partner have won through to the quarter-finals of the women's doubles at the US Tennis Open in New York.
Erakovic and Croatia's Jelena Kostanic Tosic have beaten Tatiana Poutchek of Belarus and Anastasia Rodionova of Australia 6-3, 6-3.
They'll meet either the 7th seeded Bonderenko sisters of Ukraine or the 10th seeds Lisa Raymond of the United States and Australian Samantha Stouser in the next round.
The last New Zealand woman to make doubles quarters at a Grand Slam event was Julie Richardson at the Australian Open in 1994, while Richardson was the last New Zealand woman to make the US Open doubles quarters in 1993.
