Satisfied Federer cruises into last 16

A satisfied Roger Federer says his game is right where he wants it as he heads into the second week of the U.S. Open after a hassle-free 6-3 6-3 6-2 victory over 28th seed Radek Stepanek,.

The Swiss second seed is chasing a fifth straight title at Flushing Meadows but he has yet to win a grand slam title this year.

Federer hasn't dropped a set in reaching the last 16 and will play either the Spaniard Fernando Verdasco or Igor Andreev of Russia.

He says he's been serving well for the first three rounds, and that's always a good sign for the rest of the tournament.
