Warriors back Mckinnon over spitting allegation

6:44 pm on 1 September 2008

The Warriors fullback Wade McKinnon has his boss's backing after being accused of spitting at a touch judge.

Wayne Scurrah says McKinnon has the club's total support as they wait for result of the video review of yesterday's big win over against Penrith in Auckland.

Scurrah says they've had long talk to McKinnon who denies any wrongdoing and if match reviewers decide there should be a charge it'll be defended vigorously.

McKinnon is just back after a long injury break and the Warriors can ill-afford to lose him for Saturday night's must-win clash with the Eels in Parramatta .

The touch judge complained to the referee just after half-time at Mt Smart when Panthers had just scored from what was clearly a forward pass .

However the NRL doesn't tolerate dissent from players, or any sign of aggression towards its officials.
