Warriors fullback could escape with a fine

History could be on the side of the Warriors' fullback Wade McKinnon when he faces the National Rugby League judiciary tomorrow night to answer a charge of spitting at a touch judge last weekend.

The NRL's match review committee decided yesterday McKinnon had a case to answer, but the Warriors' chief executive Wayne Scurrah says the club will vigorously defend the charge.

In the history of the NRL only five players, including Brisbane's Wally Lewis and the Warriors Mathew Ridge have been charged with spitting, and only one has served a suspension - Balmain's Jamie Corcoran who was banned for two games in 1993, while two others were fined.
