The Australian A-League footballer Dino Djulbic of the Perth Glory has accepted a five-match ban for unsporting conduct towards a match official.

The 25-year-old defender was sent off by referee Peter Green during Sunday's match against Sydney FC for allegedly spitting at a referee.

He was cleared of that allegation, which would have seen him serve a ban of up to two years.

However the match review panel found him guilty of unsporting conduct.

The panel added four matches to the mandatory one-match suspension he received for being sent off.

The club says it reserves the right to impose its own sanctions on Djulbic but would not comment on whether he could face a further ban.
