Warriors fight McKinnon's 3-match ban

It'll be an anxious wait for the Warriors before they find out if their appeal against Wade McKinnon's 3-match suspension has been successful or not.

At a marathon sitting of the NRL judiciary last night, McKinnon was found guilty of spitting at a touch judge, but his 3-game ban amunted to little more than a slap on the wrist after the NRL prosecutor had recommended a ban of between 9 and 11 matches.

But it was enough for the Warriors to launch an appeal, which was heard last night, though the judiciary chairman reserved his judgement until today.

Earlier the Newcastle hooker Matt Hilder was cleared of spitting on the Melbourne winger Anthony Quinn who said in evidence he wasn't sure if Hilder's action was intentional or not.

On Saturday night the Warriors play their vital final regular season match against Parramatta in Sydney.
