100m showdown climax to track season

6:42 am on 4 September 2008

The world record holder Usain Bolt, Asafa Powell and Tyson Gay spearhead one of the strongest 100-metre lineups assembled for a Golden League meeting when they clash on Friday night in Brussels in the final meeting of the season.

Bolt didn't run the 100 metres in Lausanne yesterday when Powell ran the second fastest time in history, and world champion Tyson Gay believes he'll be competitive against the top two in the world having recovered from a hamstring injury which cost him a place in the Olympic final.
