The South African paralympians Oscar Pistorius and Natalie du Toit have taken centre stage on the second day of competition in Beijing.
Pistorius, who failed in his atempt to take part in the Olympic Games last month, easily won his heat of the 100 metres on the track , while in the pool du Toit took the 100 metres freestyle in a new paralympic record to win her second of a possible 5 gold medals.
Pistorius later admitted that after all his trials and tribulations of the last few months , it was great to finally compete at the Olympic Stadium....
