The New Zealand shot-putter Valerie Vili is in for a financial windfall if she can cap of her outstanding year with victory at the IAAF Grand Prix finals in Germany this weekend.
45 thousand dollars is up for the winner of each of the 36 events in Stuttgart.
Vili, the world and Olympic champion, is favoured to win the event, but the 150 thousand dollar bonus for a world record looks to be out of her grasp, the record was set 20 years ago and is 2 metres further than Vili has thrown.
