The Boston Celtics have extended the contract of coach Doc Rivers as a reward for leading the club to its National basketball Association championship in 22 years.
Boston had an NBA-best 66-16 record last season and went on to defeat the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA finals for their record 17th title.
