Star Sports pays more

ESPN Star Sports will shell out nearly 1.5 billion dollars for the commercial and marketing rights for a new cricket league starting later this year in India.

The inaugural Twenty20 Champions league has been scheduled for early December with 9.2 million dollars prize money, and it'll feature eight domestic teams, two each from Australia, India and South Africa and the champions from the England and Pakistan domestic leagues.

ESPN Star have bought the rights for 10 years.
