Wallabies need to emulate the All Blacks: Deans

Australia must try to emulate the consistency of the All Blacks if they're to win the Tri-Nations and regain the Bledisloe Cup, says coach Robbie Deans.

The Wallabies had an inconsistent Tri-Nations, beating the All Blacks 34-19 in Sydney, only to lose 39-10 in Auckland a week later.

They did it again in South Africa, beating the world champion Springboks in Cape Town, only to get blown be humbled 53-8 a week later in Johannesburg.

They were then leading 17-7 in Saturday night's tri nations final before the All Blacks scored three unanswered tries to win 28-24 and take their fourth successive Tri-Nations and retain the Bledisloe Cup.

Deans says he's very disappointed and frustrated for his side as they had winning of the game and were able to build a lot of pressure but were unable to convert that into points.

Despite the lack of consistency Deans says he's been impressed with the way the side has developed and the achievement of being in contention to win the tournament shouldn't be underestimated.
