Current system fine as Price eyes home semi

The Warriors skipper Steve Price accepts the National Rugby League may well review the finals format in the wake of his eighth placed side toppling the minor premiers Melbourne and reigning champions to win a home semi final.

On Friday the Warriors host the Sydney Roosters at Mt Smart stadium but that has irked many who feel the Warriors having qualified last for the playoffs shouldn't be able to earn a home match.

Unsurprisingly Price says he doesn't have a problem with it. The winners in the first round earn privileges and the losers lose those rights.

He says it happened to the Warriors last season, when they finished in the top four but lost the first home final against the Eels then had to travel, eventually losing to the Cowboys in Townsville.

Price says either it's this set-up or all the finals are played in Sydney like in the old days.

Friday's semi-final is officially a sell-out.
