Mini staying in Roosters

The Sydney Roosters chief executive Brian Canavan has dismissed a report claiming Anthony Minichiello is set to walk out on the final year of his NRL Rugby League contract to take up an offer with a French rugby club.

Rugby League Week says the fullback is set to join the former St George Illawarra skipper Mark Gasnier at Stade Francais next year.

Minichiello will play in tomorrow night's semi-final against the Warriors in Auckland after returning only recently following a long battle with injuries.

The report says the prolonged break and growing uncertainty about his longevity in league has persuaded him to seek a massive final payday.

But Canavan says there's been no approach from Minichiello, or his manager, and as far as he's concerned, the 28-year-old will honour his contract.
